Who we are

HungryTech is a registered business name in Uganda. HungryTech operates hungrytech.io and provides institutional technology services from Senior Quarters, Mbale, Uganda.

For the information described in this notice, HungryTech decides why and how it is used, unless another organisation is responsible for that information.

Information we receive

When you contact us by WhatsApp, telephone or email, we may receive your name, contact details, organisation, the content of your enquiry, documents you choose to send, and notes needed to follow up a call or conversation.

Our hosting systems may also create basic technical and server-log records. These may include an IP address, date and time, requested page, browser or device information, referring page and security events.

This website currently has no online contact form and does not use advertising trackers or behavioural advertising.

Why we use information

We use relevant information only as reasonably needed to:

• respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
• understand requirements and prepare quotations or proposed scopes of work;
• deliver and administer an agreed engagement;
• protect our website, communications and services, and prevent fraud or misuse;
• keep appropriate business, security and correspondence records; and
• meet legal, regulatory or record-keeping obligations that apply to us.

Service providers and cloud processing

We may use service providers for hosting, email, communications, security and related business support. They may process limited information for us and are expected to use it only for the service they provide, subject to their obligations and our arrangements with them.

Some providers may operate cloud systems or process information outside Uganda. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the information and applicable law when selecting and working with those providers.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where reasonably needed to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

How long we keep information

Retention depends on the nature of the enquiry, whether an engagement follows, the need to maintain security and business records, and any legal or contractual obligation. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer reasonably needed, where this is practical and permitted.

Your choices and rights

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion where applicable. The law may allow or require us to retain some information or limit a request in particular circumstances.

Email info@hungrytech.io with enough detail for us to understand the request. We may need to take reasonable steps to confirm your identity before acting on it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards suited to the information and the way it is handled. No website, transmission or storage system can be promised to be completely secure.

If you believe a privacy concern has not been resolved, you may contact Uganda’s Personal Data Protection Office or use its complaint process (opens in a new tab).
